About KIFF

The European Independent Film Festival is not only looking for independent projects of all genres, many of which are low-budget or no-budget, but also from all countries, especially those that are traditionally underrepresented in the world film industry.

Every year, our festival will promote and screen dozens of the best short and feature films of all genres through live events where trophies and diplomas will be presented and the best picture will win a prize of 500 usd

We will glad if welcomes submissions of features and shorts, and all forms of film production – We look for interesting new voices and work that pushes boundaries and takes risks. We want to bring a unique artistic and film experience from around the world.

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Marcel Smieško is a Slovak director ,producer and cinematographer who studied at film schools in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and on film school in Lodz, Poland. He has made several successful films and projects that have won several awards at home and abroad.(festivals in Japan,Spain,USA,France,and many more) He is currently working on filming in Poland and the Czech Republic.

In addition, he is dedicated to the creation of commercial advertisements, whether it is an advertisement for the energy drink Redbull or an advertisement for the car company Audi and much more. He is no stranger to the production and direction of video clips, many of which have gained recognition, especially abroad

He has always followed the motto that flexibility is the basis of production, so he knows how to appreciate films that students or independent creators consider commercial, but also short ones. "I don't want any rules to be imposed on the development and creation of an artist. I want the artist to have maximum freedom when creating and not to be influenced by anyone or anything. No boundaries should be placed on art
